ePAY Cashless Schools

ePAY remains a leader in providing digital payment solutions for all commercial payment transactions. Schools are a targeted ecosystem to undergo the transformation from cash transactions to a digital economy.

Millions of dollars in Cash are spent at schools each month by students to purchase meals. This not only exposes students to risk associated with cash but deprives students of an early adaptation to an economy that is increasingly becoming digital. ePAY is changing that by providing a card for students to conduct all payment transactions on school campuses.

How Does It Work?

01

Parents may sign up their child/ward for a card via our online "Student ePAY Card Registration" page. Your child/ward's card will be delivered to their school within 3-5 business days where they/you would be able to collect.

02

Pick Up

Parents can pick up their child's new payment card (wristband or card, or both!) from the school office. Both options use secure chip technology.

03

Activate

Parents/students must first activate and PIN their card before access is granted to the meals service and use of the card generally for all ePAY services. PIN it online at ePAY Card Pinning or at the school office. The card/wrist band is tied to an ePAY account and will function much like a bank account.

The ePAY card must be activated BEFORE it can be used for any payment transaction or to access any ePAY service.

ePAY is constantly expanding the number of merchants and service providers where students can use the card. Currently, most quick-service restaurants accept ePAY cards. New merchants or service providers can be added within 48 hours upon request to ensure that students have minimal need for cash outside of school.

ePAY is also working on a project to make the card acceptable on public transportation in the near future.

ePAY has assembled a group of merchants that offer discounts of 10% - 15% to ePAY cardholders. A list of participating merchants is displayed here Merchant Lisitng.

ePAY Transport

Private Transportation

Private school bus operators play an important role in carrying students to and from school.

ePAY is turning private school buses into smart buses. Parents can track their children's bus movements in real-time using a convenient mobile app.

Parents can rest assured knowing their child's bus and its location throughout the school commute with ePAY's Smart Bus tracking.

The current bus provider becomes an ePAY Smart Bus by enrolling their bus on the ePAY system. There are benefits for Parents, Students and bus operators

Public Transportation

The vast majority of students will ride to school on public transportation. The vehicles are operated by private bus and taxi operators. At present there are no solutions for public taxi and bus operators but ePAY will be addressing this issue shortly.

The government will/should play a major role in fostering public transportation by providing subsidies to commuters to kick start the program so that bus and taxi operators can be introduced and exposed to an electronic fare collection system that will bring efficiency, transparency and technology management to significantly improve the transportation sector.

The ePAY Transport system features:

  • GPS capabilities to plot/monitor the movement of Taxis and buses and measure speed, route and timeliness.
  • A FREE mobile app that provides commuters with location and arrival times of transport vehicles.
  • Provide transport operators with a bank account or prepaid card to settle and receive immediate payments for rides.
  • Facility for commuters to load their card from banks accounts, Paymaster, company allowances and ecommerce.
  • Over 1,000 locations for commuters to use cash to load their cards.
